Arnaldo has had to come a long way to reach this point as painter. People who have followed his career as an atist from the beginning and who are able to see beyond the top layer of paint, are always surprised at the diversity of his imagery. Being as it were, a symbiosis of the painter, the poet, te thinker and the musican in himself, he creates paintings that show a perfect balance in technique and contents. Under the polyphony of colours a fairy tale may lie hidden, or a story, rendered mystically or exultantly, but always using the age-old traditional material of oil-paint. He is a dualist artist, who conveys thoughts and emotions in poetry and music, but who is at the same time too much of a painter pur sang to limit himself to expression from the mind alone.The colours, the layers of paint that sometimes radiate a sensuous warmth, can physically shock of people. They reflect feelings and emotions. This approach clearly does not result in paintings that are soothings to the eye, made to please, but his works do always retain their power of fascination, they are timeless. Anyone who sincerely tries to understand his paintings and to see through the colours, will grow to love it. Analdo, so hard to classify, still has a lot to offer us.
