SICK (Digger 1)

Disease digs in your little body
no doctor can turn it round
your cat’s eyes fade already
numbed by pain

Quietly you lie in my lap
I cry looking
you breathe much too fast
stagger on your legs

For hours I feel your warm body
your heartbeat quiets down
I wait until you’ll close your eyes

On that moment of parting
love conquered death
you rose above existence

You who gave so much love
don’t die and pass away
but stays alive forever

CAT (Digger 2)

The cat died in your arms
you looked at him intensely
he with his light eyes
knew that he would go

Then you showed what love is
then you showed your strength
and I who should have been the strongest
was nowhere and cried softly

FRIEND (Digger 3)

Now you’re finally at peace
cat’s paradise is your home
a place with cute little cats only
there you’re purring now
with your soft fur
on an endless flowerbed

Where he went neither of us know
where a cat can go
no people can be
ask us why
we now have his picture
and some lines text

SEPARATION (Digger 4)

Everything is said
no comfort and word
can heal anymore
time will cure
what is missaid
